The judges and I had a hard time choosing the winners for each category from all of your fantastic entries, with much consideration and plenty of Jaffa Cakes to keep us going we have decided on the following images: Category Competition Winners Category: Leading Lines Winner: Jim Brokensha Jim's Website: http://www.jamesbrokensha.com/ Comment: The Judges were impressed with your use of one of the most basic elements of a street, the yellow lines, and how you have used depth of field within the image to give texture to the road and paint. Category: Story Telling Winner: Donna Rowe Comment: The Judges were impressed with how you have the juxtaposition of the word 'stop' and the action of the skateboarder riding away and felt that this was a very strong story telling image. Category: Reflections Winner: John Bradburn John's Website: http://www.johnbradburn.co.uk/ Comment: The Judges were impressed with how you have framed the text within your reflection and with how the puddle has been framed to lead the eye in from the bottom right corner. Category: Pattern Winner: Donna Rowe Comment: The Judges were impressed with how you have combined the three different patterns within one image and how the tones and textures throughout compliment each other. Category: Lighting Winner: Jim Brokensha Jim's Website: http://www.jamesbrokensha.com/ Comment: The judges felt that the lighting throughout the image is very effective in adding depth to the scene. Category: Composition Winner: John Bradburn John's Website: http://www.johnbradburn.co.uk/ Comment: The judges felt that your use of the cut out squares and framing the two halves of a person within those squares was a clever use of composition.
